MEDIST WEBSITE — HOSTING ON NETLIFY
====================================

WHAT YOU HAVE
-------------
medist-website.zip — the complete, ready-to-publish website.

This is the finished site. Nothing needs to be built, compiled or
installed. You upload this one file and the site is live.

Do NOT unzip it first. Netlify wants the zip exactly as it is.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
OPTION A — FASTEST (about 2 minutes, no account needed to start)
-------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Go to: https://app.netlify.com/drop

2. Drag "medist-website.zip" from your desktop onto the dashed
box on that page. (Or click the box and select the file.)

3. Wait roughly 30 seconds while it uploads.

4. Done. Netlify shows you a live URL that looks something like:
        https://sparkly-narwhal-a1b2c3.netlify.app

The site is live on the internet at that address right now.

5. IMPORTANT — claim the site so it doesn't expire:
Netlify will prompt you to sign up (free). Do it. A site
deployed without an account is deleted after a short while.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
OPTION B — IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A NETLIFY ACCOUNT
-------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Log in at https://app.netlify.com

2. Click "Add new site" -> "Deploy manually"

3. Drag "medist-website.zip" onto the upload area.

4. Wait for it to finish. The site is live.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
GIVING IT A PROPER NAME
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The random name (sparkly-narwhal-...) can be changed to something
sensible like medist.netlify.app:

Site configuration -> Site details -> Change site name

Type "medist" (or whatever is free) and save.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
USING YOUR OWN DOMAIN (e.g. medist.ae)
-------------------------------------------------------------------

1. In Netlify: Domain management -> Add a domain
2. Type your domain and follow the prompts.
3. Netlify shows you the DNS records to add.
4. Add those records wherever the domain was purchased
(GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), in the DNS settings.
5. Allow up to a few hours for it to take effect.

Netlify issues the HTTPS certificate automatically and free — you
do not need to buy one.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATING THE SITE LATER
-------------------------------------------------------------------

When you get a new zip:

Deploys -> drag the new zip onto the "Drag and drop" area

It replaces the old version. The URL and domain stay the same.
Netlify keeps every previous version, so a bad update can be
rolled back in one click from the Deploys list.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
ONE TECHNICAL NOTE
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Inside the zip is a small file called "_redirects".

Leave it alone. It is what allows pages like

    /products/pharmaceuticals
    /contact

to load correctly when someone opens them directly, refreshes the
page, or arrives from a Google result. If that file is removed,
those pages will show a "Page not found" error.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
-------------------------------------------------------------------

"Page not found" on the homepage
The zip was probably unzipped and re-zipped, which buries the
files one folder too deep. Use the original zip as supplied.

"Page not found" only on sub-pages
The "_redirects" file is missing. Use the original zip.

Images not loading
    Hard-refresh the browser: Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows)
    or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
